Indira Gandhi International Airport: Use the Airport Express (Orange Line) from Terminal 3 to New Delhi Metro Station: about 20–25 minutes, roughly ₹60. It is air-conditioned, avoids Delhi traffic and connects to the Yellow Line at New Delhi. From Terminal 1, use the airport’s inter-terminal transfer to T3 rather than paying a taxi for the whole journey. A prepaid taxi or app cab is sensible only for a hotel well away from Metro coverage, or after the Metro has stopped; expect 45–90 minutes in traffic and roughly ₹500–800.
New Delhi Railway Station: The useful exits are confusing: use the Ajmeri Gate side for New Delhi Metro Station and the Yellow Line/Airport Express. The Yellow Line is best for central and south Delhi; Airport Express reaches DEL in about 20–25 minutes. Do not follow anyone offering to lead you to the “foreign tourist office” or a “better” ticket counter—this station is Delhi’s most concentrated tout zone.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station: For central Delhi, take an auto/app cab to Jangpura or Sarai Kale Khan–Nizamuddin Metro, or use a direct app cab if carrying luggage; allow 25–50 minutes to Connaught Place or Lutyens’ Delhi depending on traffic. It is a more manageable arrival station than New Delhi Railway Station, but not as well integrated with the core Metro network.
Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station / ISBT: Use Anand Vihar Metro: Blue Line for Connaught Place/Rajiv Chowk and connections westward; Pink Line for cross-city links. The Metro is the right answer, not a long cross-town taxi ride; central Delhi is typically 35–50 minutes away.
