Haneda Airport: For Hamamatsuchō, Shiba and Tokyo Tower, take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsuchō: about 20 minutes, roughly ¥520. For Shinagawa, Sengakuji and much of eastern Minato, use the Keikyū Airport Line instead; through-services reach Sengakuji in about 20 minutes and Shinagawa in roughly 15–20 minutes for around ¥330–¥500. Do not default to an airport limousine bus unless your hotel is directly served and you have bulky luggage—Tokyo traffic makes it the less reliable choice.
Narita International Airport: Take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station or Shinagawa, then connect by JR or subway for your Minato address. Shinagawa is especially useful for Takanawa, Shinbashi and Roppongi-side hotels; expect about 70–90 minutes to Shinagawa, around ¥3,000. It is pricier than slower local combinations, but much less punishing after a long flight with luggage. The Skyliner is excellent for Ueno, not Minato.
Tokyo Station: Tokyo Station is Tokyo’s main Shinkansen arrival point, but it sits just outside Minato. Use the JR Yamanote or Keihin-Tōhoku line south to Hamamatsuchō or Shinbashi (about 4–6 minutes), or a taxi only if luggage and a short final hop justify it.
Shinagawa Station: For many Minato stays, Shinagawa is the better Shinkansen station: it is on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tōhoku lines, and Keikyū services to Haneda. It is a practical base for Takanawa, Sengakuji and Shinagawa-side hotels; central Roppongi/Akasaka still requires a rail transfer or a 15–25-minute taxi depending on traffic.
