Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport: Take CTP’s A1E Airport Express from directly outside the terminal to Piața Mihai Viteazu: about 26 minutes, 6 lei, payable by contactless card on board. From there, Piața Unirii is a short walk. Lines 5 and 8 are cheaper (about 3 lei per ride) but require walking out to the roadside stop and buying/validating a ticket; use them only if you are watching every leu. Skip the 15-lei Wizz shuttle. Bolt or Uber is sensible late at night or with luggage; do not accept unsolicited airport-taxi offers.
Cluj-Napoca railway station (Gara Cluj-Napoca): The station is roughly a 15–20-minute walk from Piața Unirii and the old town, via the Someș and Piața Mihai Viteazu; for most central hotels, walking beats waiting for a transfer. With heavy luggage, order Bolt/Uber rather than taking a taxi from the rank, where overcharging “shark” drivers are a known problem.
Autogara Nord / intercity bus area by the railway station: It is beside the main station, so use the same 15–20-minute walk or app-hailed ride into the centre. This is the practical arrival point for many domestic and regional buses; do not confuse it with a centrally located coach terminal.
