Avoid: Avoid arriving with luggage or a backpack: there is no storage and backpacks are banned; winter brings cold, snow, wind, and no regular Cubs games.

Where to sit: For the classic view, choose an assigned seat with a clear sightline toward the ivy-covered outfield wall and hand-operated center-field scoreboard; a Friday 1:20 p.m. game or other day game shows the park best. Avoid seats with obstructing support columns or overhangs if the ticket listing identifies them. The bowl has minimal shade, so exposed bleacher and lower-bowl seats can be hot and glary for summer day games; night games reduce direct sun but can be cooler and windier. Bleachers are general admission: enter through the Budweiser Bleacher Gate and arrive at gate opening if a particular location matters.
Getting out: After sold-out games or concerts, avoid the immediate crush at Addison Red Line station by walking about 10–15 minutes south to Belmont Red/Brown/Purple Line or north to Sheridan Red Line. If using remote Cubs parking at 4650 N. Clarendon Ave., use the free shuttle, which begins two hours before first pitch and runs for roughly 90 minutes after the game. Reserve event-day parking through the Cubs’ SpotHero link rather than circling neighborhood streets.
Food & drink: For Cubs games, visitors may bring a personal amount of food in a small disposable bag and one factory-sealed plastic bottle. Alcohol, glass, cans, thermoses, hard coolers and backpacks (including clear backpacks) are prohibited. Other bags must be under 16 x 16 x 8 inches; concert food and bag rules can differ.
Tours: Book the official Public Wrigley Field Tour for a non-game day for the broadest route; it lasts 75–90 minutes and may include the seating bowl, bleachers, ivy, press box, visiting clubhouse, Cubs dugout and field, subject to operations. Buy the timed tour in advance and arrive 10–15 minutes early at Gallagher Way Gate, where tours begin and end. A private VIP tour is available for groups of up to 50 for US$2,000 plus tax.
